Fix Leaks in Aging Air Conditioning Systems with New Upgrades
Air Conditioning Components
Factory air conditioning systems on classic Chevy Camaros, Chevelles, and El Caminos were never known for overperformance, and decades of sitting don’t help. Leaking hoses, seized compressors, and brittle seals are common once you try to bring the system back to life. Many cars that still have their original components simply can’t hold a charge anymore, even if they technically “turn on.”
Refreshing air conditioning components often means replacing more than just one failed part. Compressors, lines, fittings, and sealing surfaces all have to work together to keep refrigerant contained and airflow consistent. Many restorations address A/C components while the front of the engine is apart for service tied to engine brackets and pulleys or while correcting belt alignment issues around alternator brackets and pulleys, since access is easier and proper routing matters.
