Loose steering or wandering front-end behavior in your classic Chevy can sometimes trace back to a worn idler arm. On Camaros, Chevelles, and El Caminos equipped with traditional steering linkage systems, the idler arm supports the center link on the passenger side of the chassis. As this pivot point wears over time, it can introduce play into the steering system, leading to vague steering response and alignment inconsistencies.

Replacing the idler arm restores proper support for the steering linkage and helps keep the center link moving in a controlled, stable path.
